Doll No. 405 July, 2014 |
Isaac: I
started this doll in 2011 and got stalled. I used an old pattern -
Butterick No. 331, patented in 1898 (or 1899?). The pattern was supposed
to create a Martha Chase like doll. The needle sculpted face was
hideous, so I sculpted a new one using paperclay applied directly to the
stuffed head. That was then covered with knit fabric and painted with
acrylics. His hair is wool (the kind that comes braided). His clothing
is removable. He stands about 17 inches tall.
